About this block

This is a nine-patch design combining several pieced units: triangle-in-a-square units at the center points, half-square triangles at the corners, and a diamond-in-a-square at the very center. That mix of three distinct pieced techniques within one nine-patch grid makes it a more advanced build than a typical nine-patch, since each unit type carries its own seam allowances and set-in angles to keep track of.
