Techniques used (complete these first)

Stitch and Flip (Snowballing)

Stitch-and-Flip Corner Unit

A method to add diagonal corners to a square or rectangle without cutting triangles first.

  1. Mark a diagonal line on the wrong side of the smaller corner square.
  2. Place the small square on the corner of the base fabric, right sides together.
  3. Sew directly on the marked diagonal line.
  4. Trim the excess fabric 1/4 inch away from the seam.
  5. Flip the triangle open and press.

Pro tip: Sew a needle-width to the 'outside' of the line (toward the corner) to account for the thickness of the fabric when it folds over.

Subunits first

Using the techniques listed above, make the following sub units: 1 Snowball Unit.
