This week was heavily focused on bug fixes and enhancements to the cutting layouts. The major addition is version history: quilt saves now keep up to five revisions. I often go back and forth on color choices, and losing an earlier variation just to save a newer one was frustrating. This feature fixes that, so you can keep multiple options in play until you decide on the final draft.
On the layout side, the cutting engine handles curved shapes like Drunkard's Path and Orange Peel much better now. Concave curves nest together instead of lining up end to end, which saves a lot of fabric. There are also several new printing options, making it easy to see exact cutting instructions in a saved PDF or physical print without having to keep the app loaded on your screen.
Finally, there are a few smaller practical tweaks. The kaleidoscope block template cut to exact size almost always turns out just a little too small because center seams naturally build up bulk. No amount of ironing fixes that completely, so the template now includes an extra eighth of an inch in length. With a scant quarter-inch seam and standard quilting cotton, it brings the block right to size. If you use a lighter fabric or a super-scant seam, you can always trim down the extra, but having a little extra breathing room is far better than ending up short.
